Overview
Brand-new loaded cylinder head for the CAT 3406E, C15, C15 ACERT and C18 inline 6-cylinder diesel - a one-piece head that seals the combustion chamber and carries the valves, springs, injectors and rocker assembly on these engines. One universal casting covers all four engine families in both the single turbo and twin turbo (ACERT) arrangements, and it covers all six cylinders, so a complete engine takes just one. It ships fully assembled with the valvetrain already installed, so there is no machine shop time before you bolt it on.
Includes: Valves, heavy-duty springs, retainers, keepers, valve guides, valve seats, valve stem seals, injector cups and cam bearings - all installed. Valve bridges included.

All of them take this head. Send us your engine serial number and we will verify the arrangement before shipping.
Q: Will it fit both single turbo and twin turbo engines?
Yes. This is the universal casting. It covers the 3406E and single turbo C15 (6NZ, MBN) as well as the twin turbo C15 ACERT (MXS, BXS, NXS, SDP), plus the C18. The dedicated ACERT-only head (223-7263) and the dedicated single turbo head (245-4324) do not interchange with each other - this one covers both.
Q: How many do I need?
One. This is a single one-piece head that covers all six cylinders, so a complete engine takes just 1 cylinder head.

Q: Can I reuse my original head bolts?
No - they are torque-to-yield and cannot be reused. Install new bolts or upgrade to head studs, and fit a new spacer plate and gasket at the same time.
