J800426 HX40W Turbo for Case IH MX240 MX285 STX325
Overview
Brand-new HX40W wastegated turbocharger for the Case IH MX240, MX255, MX270, MX285, STX275 and STX325 tractors, the FLX3300B sprayer, and the TJ275 and TJ325 built for New Holland on the same 8.3L C-series diesel. The turbo bolts to the stock exhaust manifold, feeds the factory intake, and comes with the mounting gaskets, so the machine goes back to work without a trip to the dealer for hardware.
Includes: the complete turbocharger assembly with the wastegate actuator fitted, plus the mounting gaskets for the manifold and the oil drain flange.

Does not fit: the 5.9L and 6.7L B-series engines, and the QSX15-powered TJ375, TJ425, TJ440, TJ450 and TJ500 built for New Holland - those are a different engine family and a different turbo. If your machine is a 2006 or later TJ280, TJ330 or STX330, send us the serial number first: that later build uses a different turbo and we will confirm before you order.
Why It's Better
A new unit, not a rebuilt core. The centre housing, compressor housing and turbine housing are new, so there is no rebuild history behind the bearing housing - no welded or re-machined housings, no second-hand shaft. On a tractor that runs 1,000 hours a year, that history is what decides whether the turbo lasts a season or five.
Balanced as an assembly, not as parts. The rotor goes together and is high-speed balanced before the housings close up, so the shaft runs true at working rpm. An unbalanced rotor is the single most common reason a replacement turbo fails inside the first few hundred hours.
The wastegate is set before it ships. The actuator is fitted and the wastegate is preset to the boost spec for this engine, so you are not setting rod length on the bench with a pressure gauge and hoping. Bolt it on and the boost curve is where the engine expects it.
Gaskets in the box and the stock plumbing fits. The mounting gaskets come with the turbo and the oil feed, oil drain and intake connections are positioned to the factory pattern, so the original lines and clamps go back on without adapters.

FAQ
Q: Will it fit my tractor?
It fits the Case IH MX240, MX270, MX255, MX285, STX275, STX325 and the FLX3300B sprayer, and for New Holland the TJ275 and TJ325. The quickest check is the number on your old turbo: J800426, J590348, A77906 or 87774974 means this is the one. If the tag is gone, send the machine serial number and a photo of the old unit and we will confirm.
Q: What is the difference between J800426, J590348, A77906, 87774974 and 3590348?
They all point at the same turbo. J800426 is the aftermarket number most US dealers stock, J590348, A77906 and 87774974 are the CNH numbers used on the Case IH and New Holland side, and 3590348 is the manufacturer's number for the HX40W build. Any of the five on your old unit means this is a match.
Q: How is it packed?
The turbo is packed in a foam-lined carton with the compressor and turbine openings capped, and the gaskets are bagged with the unit. Multiple turbos ship on a single pallet.
Q: What should I do before installing it?
Drain and replace the engine oil, check the oil feed line for sludge and replace it if it is restricted, and prime the new turbo at the oil inlet before the first start. Then run the engine at idle for a minute before loading it. A turbo fitted onto a restricted feed line fails for the same reason the old one did.
Q: What does the warranty cover?
12 months against manufacturing defects - bearing failure, housing cracks and actuator faults. Send us photos and the machine serial number and we will handle the claim.
